Blackberry Point Haven

Our Experience and Approach to Rescue

Our team brings a deep understanding of animal care, shaped by years of experience in veterinary medicine and working with both horses and dogs in competitive settings. We regularly receive calls from Wisconsin, Illinois, and southern states—often from shelters or individuals who underestimated the challenges of raising a litter.

When we’re able to step in, we do so with care and purpose. We ensure the parents of surrendered puppies are spayed or neutered, covering the cost ourselves to help break the cycle of preventable litters. By taking in puppies before they enter the shelter system, we also help shield them from illnesses like parvovirus that are common in high-stress environments.

As a small organization with limited resources, we have to be thoughtful about the cases we take on. Even when we can’t accept a litter, we do our best to help—whether it’s funding spay/neuter procedures or guiding families to the right resources.

The world of rescue is full of people doing their best in different ways. This is our way—and we’re honored to be part of a community working together to make life better for animals in need.

Our Mission

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, licensed as DS-546403 and proudly based in Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide a second chance for dogs who have been dealt an unfortunate hand in life. We focus on rehoming these resilient pups, giving them the love, care, and forever families they deserve. Every dog deserves a fresh start, and we are committed to making that happen.
